Richard Valdemar’s experience in the field of the arts is eclectic. In High School he was involved in photography, mechanical drafting, and in the school’s Production Art Staff. Upon graduation he was awarded two fine arts scholarships. However, he wound up in the Army in Vietnam instead. He joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1970 and retired after 33+ years and moved to Bullhead City. For many years he was an author and blogger for Police Magazine. This experience in LASD led to script writing and technical advising for the movie industry. Since joining the River Valley Artist Guild he has rekindled his interest in drawing, painting, and writing prose and poetry. Several documentary and movie projects are pending.
