Sheila Barger - Painting, Ceramics, Digital, Mixed Media, and Most Mediums
I would like to thank the Artists Guild for getting me to pick up a paintbrush again and enriching my retirement days by giving back to the community.
A renowned advertising, graphic design, and marketing professional from New Orleans, Sheila and her husband Peter Ryn, retired to Bullhead, Arizona. Sheila attended Art Center College of Design and has a BA from Drake University and a Master's from Florida Institute of Technology in Government Contracting and Project Management.
Now retired with her creative husband, their 2,500 sq. ft. studio showcases a diverse range of work, including ceramic totems, live-edge wood tables, exterior metal sculptures, paintings, and other mediums.
Sheila worked for Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, two Fortune 500 companies, the New Orleans Tourist Commission, and received numerous awards from the New Orleans Art Directors’ Club. After Hurricane Katrina, Sheila moved to Newport Beach, CA. She joined forces with Rodheim Marketing, creating logos, websites, and marketing information for example: The Concourse’s de Elegance Gala, Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race, and the Complete Cruising Guild to Newport Harbor.
Sheila is known for her award-winning hand-built pottery totem poles, which are located throughout Las Vegas, Bullhead, and Lake Havasu areas. With her husband, Peter, they also won many awards for their live-edge tables, trees, sculptures, and paintings.
